I am woken early morning by the chattering of the birds and sunlight streaming through the slit between the blinds. Time for coffee and breakfast in our pyjamas (outside if we wish as we are still the only ones here). The air temperature is still cool but a perfect blue sky heralds another warm and sunny day. After breakfast we do some research about our forthcoming visit to Prague.

We have maps and places to go but need to find overnight stops and public transport routes into the city. We could easily stay another night, the sunlight, the mountain air and the quiet are so restorative to the soul, especially after our busy and active week. After lunch we make our way down the mountain road to the Tlumačov village and back on R1903 to Domazliče. Driving back through the town and past the two tall church spires, we turn north on R193 to Horšovský Týv where we turn east again on R26 towards Pilsen passing through Staňkov, Holyšov, Stod and around Pilsen where we take R233 north east through Chrást to Smĕdiče. Keeping left on R193 towards Všenice, through Stupno to Břasy, our next destination.

Here at Břasy we are looking for a brand new Stellplatz only just completed, next to a big park at Ultramarinka. As usual we are following Google maps that takes on a left turn down a narrow road with houses, only to find huge concrete blocks across the road to stop vehicles from entering the park. We can see the Stellplatz on the other side… darn it! We retrace our steps and using Apple maps come in by the other entrance and park up on one of the four spaces (next to the concrete block)!

The Stellplatz at Břasy is super (although the workmen are finishing laying the pavement next to what will likely be the café). It is next to a chimney that must be 100ft tall and all that is left from the old workings, and in the centre of the most fabulous park of Ultramarinka. It has been thoughtfully laid out with something for everyone: grass, fountains, duck pond, climbing frames for children, skateboard/cycling park, mini-golf course. Many people: parents, children, teenagers are cycling around on bikes, skateboards, roller blades etc. It is warm and sunny and we sit and watch enjoying the ambiance, there is even a cuckoo in the distance. The workmen finish fixing the electrics on the water/disposal column and laying the gravel for the pavement. They work long hours finishing at 7.00pm (and started at 7.00am the following morning). The lazy afternoon turns to a lazy evening with wine and tuna rillette. Later Jammon salad for tea and an early night.
