Welcome to the motorhome tours of Gill & Alan, the Wandering Wine Tasters – we wander around Europe in our Hymer motorhome visiting wine producing areas tasting and sampling the wines then purchasing the ones we liked. As well as wine tasting we travel to American Square Dance events across Europe, sometimes hundreds of other American Square Dancers are there to dance.
Lockdown is now a distant memory, we are back travelling around Europe sampling the delights of different wines and gastronomic delicacies. 2026 has been a busy year for motorhome travel with three major tours through Europe and Scandinavia. We combine our passion for dancing, wine tasting and motorhome travel; three treks Germany in April for an American Square Dance week in Cham followed by wine tasting in the Alsace; July saw us back in Germany for the European American Square Dance Convention along with 1,600 other dancers, followed by a great tour in Norway; August and September was the turn of Spain and France, unfortunately high temperatures forced us to change our plans to revisit Granada, instead we stayed in the Pyrenees then took the long way back through France. In this motorhome travel website you will find details of routes that we travelled, places we stayed – with some reviews highlighting the good and bad things about the particular campsite or aire. Generally the UK, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland provide relatively poor places for motorhomes to stay overnight when compared to Europe and France in particular. Most places where motorhomes can stay in the UK are really caravan sites, and they provide the facilities that caravans want, rather than what motorhomes want and need.
