Camping La Ravoire Lac D’Annecy
A slow start to the day for us here at Camping La Ravoire Lake Annecy, we are joined by our 6 year old granddaughter who wants breakfast with us. Later we wander down to the pool and have another relaxing morning watching the paragliders launching themselves into the thermal air currents.
In the afternoon we go with the rest of the family to Plage d’Angon on the other side of Lake Annecy. It is a lovely beach but find that it is the inter-school sports day and most of the grassy sitting area has been cordoned off for races, relays, target practice etc. There are hundreds of young people taking part; we squish under the trees in the shade while the children wade out to the pontoon platforms and have fun swimming in the lake.
It is a very enjoyable afternoon, later we head back to Chalet 9 and have BBQ tea with the children. In the evening the parents escape for the evening, taking themselves off to a restaurant. We play Uno with the children till late, putting them to bed about 9.30.
The sky is darkening with dusk, but there is also thunder rumbling around the mountains. We take no chances and bring the chairs inside the camper, put the table and mat underneath well out of the way of any rain and wind in the sun canopy. Later, we lie in bed as the thunder and lightning crash around and torrential rain hammers on the camper. It may be France and hot but the rain is just as wet as in the UK.
