Camping La Ravoire Lac D’Annecy

We wake to the aftermath of the inundation of last night’s thunderstorms and torrential rain, so pleased that we brought the chairs inside, put the floor mat and table under Hymer and wound in the sun canopy.

Others who had left it all out had a job to spread everything out and get it dried. After breakfast I do a big clean, sweep out the Hymer, spread the mat out in the sun and sweep it of rain splashes, wipe and clean the table. It doesn’t take too long but needed doing after all the rain.

The family go to Chamonix and take the cable car towards the glaciers on Mont Blanc, they have a long, but super day. After lunch we walk the two kilometres to the beach at Doussard and have a leisurely walk along the marina. The weather clouds over in the afternoon and large fat drops start to fall as we make our way back.

Back at the Hymer, it is a short but heavy shower, we sit under the canopy with the others and watch the heavy rain bounce off the road, dry under our awnings. Later, when the family are back, we have another BBQ everything: chicken, prawns, ham, burger buns, salad and ravioli. In fact anything that is in the fridge that needs eating up before Saturday when the family are heading back to the UK. We will be leaving tomorrow, we need to be off the site by midday.
