Mittelbergheim to Blainville sur l’Eau
Motorhome journey Mittelbergheim to Blainville sur l’Eau
I wake about 7.30 when Mr C. gets up to make coffee. I drink water and, in fact have nothing else all day. I feel totally shattered and spend the morning sleeping. Mr C. walks to Mittelbergheim to see Mr Schwob, pay for our wine purchased yesterday and he says he it is no bother to deliver it for us. I sleep till lunchtime, feeling very frustrated as we wanted to do the Art walk through the vines and walk over to Bar in the next valley. No matter, it will have to be next time. After a lunch (Mr C. only) we get on our way leaving Mittelberheim through Andlau and onto D425, the mountain road Le Hohwald and through other lovely mountain villages.
We climb steadily, up and up through some quite severe hairpin bends to the top of Col de Carbonnieres at 960m. Then our descent round similar sharp hairpin bends to the Mountain adventure site that we stopped at a year or two ago and on down to the junction with D57 at Breitenbach where we turn towards Fouday. Here we turn onto D1420 to St Blaise de Roche where we take D424, a better road past Senones to Moyen Moutier. Here we take D50, a good dual carriageway past Baccarat to Luneville. A short drive then to town of Blainville sur l’Eau.
We have only driven 55 miles/88km, short by our standard but likely because of narrow mountain roads, scenic but slow! We find the Campingcar-Park on Rue de la Filature, 12 places and only two people already here. We enter at the barrier, €14.50/night including hook-up and chose a pitch, all are large and face the river. We park up, attach the hook-up cable and stop. The day is warm and sunny so we walk out along the river a short way to get our bearings. I have no tea but Mr C. has a fillet mignon salad sandwich, it looks yum! I have an early night, sleeping all night till Mr C wakes me about 7.00ish.
