 Cham to Weinsberg

Motorhome journey Cham to Weinsberg

After a week in the hotel here in Cham we moved back to the Hymer by taxi. Our driver spoke no English, which gave me a chance to use the German that I have been learning for the past year. A few words go a long way and it’s surprising how much one can understand. The weather is not good today, rain falling as we move our bags and square dance clothes back to Hymer then get on our way by 11.30 am.

Our route from Cham takes us back onto H.85 past Schwandorf, then H.6 to Ansbach and Freizeitwelt Nagal motorhome suppliers, arriving just after 1.30 and 180 km. We park up in fairly consistent rain. Sort our clothes and bags, storing some in the locker, have lunch and then, as it is only 3.00 pm we decide to drive on further, back on H.6 past Satteldorf to Weinsberg. We weave our way through the town and find the Wohnmobilstellplatz alongside the railway, arriving around 5.00 pm and park up for the night.

We open fizz (Cremant de Bourgogne) and a starter of salmon rillette and thin baguette, while Thai green curry cooks in the pan. There are 14 motorhomes here (20 places) for the night, 12 German, one Netherlands and one UK (us). Apart from the regular hum of the trains passing it is a very quiet night.
