Neafchatel-en-Bray to Calais

We awake to thick fog, it is not even possible to see the end of the camp site (5 campers along). We drink coffee and have breakfast; the fog clears a little. We service Hymer and are away before 10.00am.

Today is a functional day of driving to Calais, about 178km. From Neufchatel en Bray we take the D928 and then A28 to Abbeyville; D1001 to Montreuil and D901 to Samar, here we fill with diesel. Onto the D240 to Hesdin l’Abbé and D391 towards Calais. We stop for lunch at a run-down Aire and back on the A16 to Calais arriving around 2.00pm.

Mr C. calls at Leroy Merlin Bricolage (a large hardware and DIY kind of place but decides it is all too expensive. Next call is to Auchan Supermarket which is on the same shopping area. It is full of locals and tourists aimlessly wandering around with large trolleys… my idea of hell! The sooner we are out the better I feel.

Onto the Aire de Camperplats de Gravelot for our overnight stay for the Calais-Dover ferry tomorrow.
