Arriving at Turku, Finland via Viking Lines ferry from Stockholm

We spend several days at Europeade 2017 held at Turku in Finland, we are part of a group of English and Welsh dancers taking part in the biggest folk festival in Europe with over 6,000 participants. Our days are spent travelling to different dance stages dotted around the city where we perform a selection of English and Welsh dances in English costume, from the Regency period, and traditional Welsh costume.

We travel to each dance venue by bus, which is interesting in itself, especially as there are other performers in their costumes, all very colourful. We get used to being stopped and asked to pose for photographs and do the same to other performers too. We accumulate a lot of photos on cameras and phones.

Meals were generally good when you consider that thousands of participants were being fed. This was a great experience that was enjoyed by all our group. Participation in Europeade 2017 was the main justification for this motorhome tour of Europe. After Europeade we made our way back to the UK slowly via the Baltic States and Eurotunnel, a total of around 3,500 miles over 30 days. During that time our Hymer motorhome performed perfectly, what more can you ask?
