One of the benefits of travelling around Europe by motorhome is that you can visit places at your own speed and reach places that are more difficult to reach, such as wine producers. 

We enjoy both travelling by motorhome because of the freedom that it gives and also trying new and different wines. Wherever we go it is always exciting to sample the local wines. Usually we are very pleased with them, but there have been occasions that we have been sadly disappointed by a bottle, the one that comes to mind immediately is the Russian “Champagne’ sparking wine we tried in one of the Baltic states.

On this page we’re concentrating on Crémant, that being the name applied to any sparkling French wine that does not bear the Champagne name. Crémant is made in many different regions of France, it sells for a much lower price than champagne, but has all the aroma and flavour of its more expensive cousin. Here is a selection of the Crémants that we have sampled over the last few trips to France and beyond.

Wolfberger Cremant d’Alsace	Wolfberger Crémant d’Alsace Brut Rosé A delightful deep pink rose colour, with very small bubbles. A light crémant with a powerful taste of strawberry and raspberry. This one stands out from the crowd.
