Go Motorhoming EUROPE from Vicarious Media

June 2026 and we received a copy of Go Motorhoming EUROPE from Vicarious Media, retail price £9.99 from their shop [opens in a new tab].

The book is a handy size, A5, and nearly 200 pages long. My overall impression is that this is a great resource for experienced motorhome owners and invaluable for newer owners. I spent a long time thumbing through the pages and was impressed by the coverage, it was obviously written by experienced travellers.

I remember well the first European trip that we made, we spent hours on the internet looking for information and reading the experiences of others. This volume would have been a great help because it pulls together a mass of information into one place.

If you are not familiar with European travel by motorhome this is a very useful place to start.

I don’t want to include a lot of material from the guide, but one topic that I thought was really useful was the description of Jetons, these are the tokens that are used to obtain water from various dispensers, predominantly in France. 

You can see from the thumbnail image of the left an illustration of many different jetons. Usually when you arrive at an aire in France you will need a jeton, but where do you get them? Usually there will be a notice on the column to tell you. We found it handy to keep a couple in stock because you can’t always be sure that the stockist will be open.

While talking about Vicarious Media, it’s worth mentioning that they publish a series of books about aires (overnight stopping places) covering various countries in Europe.
