Pierre de Bresse to Vif

Today we travel on from Pierre de Bresse to stop overnight on the driveway of friends, south of Grenoble. -1°C outside, sunny and a clear blue sky, frost on our roof windows this morning. Inside we were snug and warm thanks to the Hymer’s central heating. I make breakfast, we service the motorhome then take a short walk around to photograph the village then we are off on our way. A good overnight stop at Pierre de Bresse.

I drove the first two hours until we stopped for lunch, during the stop we cleaned the outside of the Hymer’s windows because they were getting very dirty, while I was cleaning I also vacuumed out the inside of the motorhome. Gill drove the next 2 hours, taking a short stop to top up with diesel, another 23L, then I drove the last section to Xavier’s house in Vif.

Xavier speaks really good English, his wife was not so proficient, so I got to speak a lot of French before Xavier arrived home from work. Generally I like speaking foreign languages with people who don’t speak a lot of English, that forces me to persevere and not revert to some English.

We spent a very pleasant evening eating and drinking where we were introduced to a variety of French cheeses that we had not encountered previously. Xavier and Magdala both work and we have another long day driving tomorrow, so it was back to the Hymer around 2230 and into bed to get some sleep.
