Notes about our trek though France and Northern Spain
Some notes following our trek though France and Northern Spain
Home safely so now we can set to work and unload the Hymer, look at the house and garden and see what work needs doing first.
We have a good stock of wine, we didn’t know at the time, but there would be big changes following Brexit. The problem with the motorised valve was sorted out, I decided to install a second motor valve so that if the same problem occurred in the future it would be easier to repair. On the Hymer motorhome, the grey water tank is located under the vehicle, is a large insulated box. The motor valve is inside the box, to protect it from freezing, there is a warm air duct from the main heating system to keep the whole grey water tank and area warm. Unfortunately that means that replacing the valve is a long and difficult job.
I purchased the valve through AliExpress in China and it was shipped quickly. After replacing the valve I decided to install a second valve in series with the first, outside the grey water enclosure so that it was more accessible. The valves are around £30 each from China, and are identical to the original which is available from Germany at approximately 4 times the cost.
